This Privacy Policy explains how Finql ("Finql", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Finql mobile application and related services (the "Service"). Finql is a gamified finance-education platform. All trading in the app is simulated — there is no real money, no live market data, and no real brokerage account involved in the in-app experience.
By using the Service, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
Finql operates the Service and is based in the United Arab Emirates. For any privacy questions or requests, contact us at support@finql.app.
2. Information we collect
Information you provide:
- Account details — your name, email address, and password or one-time passcode when you register.
- Profile information — your proficiency level, learning preferences, and any details you add to your profile.
- Reward fulfilment details — when you redeem certain rewards, we may collect a phone number or similar contact details needed to deliver the reward.
- Content you create — trade journal notes and support messages.
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data — lessons viewed, challenges completed, XP and Seeds earned, simulated trading activity, and feature interactions.
- Device and technical data — device model, operating system, app version, language, and similar identifiers.
- Diagnostic data — crash reports and performance data used to keep the app stable.
- Push notification tokens — only if you enable notifications.
What we do not collect: real financial account numbers, real brokerage credentials, or real-money balances — the app does not connect to any real market or hold real funds. Payment card details are never processed by us; subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google.
3. How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Service (learning, simulated trading, challenges, rewards, leaderboards).
- To personalise your experience, including placing you into a proficiency tier.
- To send transactional messages such as verification codes and account notices.
- To send engagement and marketing notifications where permitted — you can opt out at any time.
- To maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To improve and develop the Service through analytics and diagnostics.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
4. Subscriptions and payments
Premium subscriptions are sold exclusively through Apple's App Store and Google Play. Your payment is processed by the relevant app store under its own terms and privacy policy. We receive confirmation of your purchase and entitlement status, but we never receive or store your payment card details.
5. Service providers and sharing
We share limited data with trusted providers who help us run the Service:
- Apple and Google — in-app purchases and subscription billing.
- Firebase (Google) — authentication and push notifications.
- Anthropic — powering AI-assisted features; if you use a feature that relies on AI, the text you submit may be processed to generate a response.
- Zoho — sending transactional and marketing email.
- DigitalOcean Spaces — secure file and media storage.
- Sentry — crash and error reporting.
We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights, or in connection with a business transfer.
6. International transfers
We are based in the UAE and our providers may process data in other countries. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected consistent with this Policy and applicable law.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. We retain certain data longer where required for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes. You may request deletion as described below.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can:
- Edit your profile directly in the app.
- Turn off push notifications in your device settings, and unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in each email.
- Request access to or deletion of your account by contacting support@finql.app.
We will respond to verified requests within a reasonable time and as required by applicable law.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
